As the domestic intelligence service of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) significantly contributes to citizen security.

Its tasks

As a team player in a technical department, you will support a motivated team in the operational management of telecommunications surveillance (TKÜ). You will be responsible for this area vis-à-vis external and internal bodies, handle tasks in 2nd level support, administer software tools, support application operations, and serve as the contact person for trainees training as IT specialists for system integration.

Salary and prospects

  • Permanent employment up to pay grade 12 TV EntgO Bund, with potential for civil servant status (€53,380.10 to €83,414.27 annual gross)
  • Transfer to civil servant status up to A 11 BBesO A if requirements are met
  • IT specialist and intelligence service allowances
  • Salary depends on recognition of qualifications and experience

Your profile

Requirements include:

  • German citizenship
  • IHK trainer aptitude certificate and a completed university degree (Bachelor / Dipl. [FH]) in computer science / business informatics or equivalent skills and experience
  • At least two years of professional experience as an IT specialist in system integration
  • Students graduating within twelve months after the deadline may also apply

Additional expectations

  • Proven experience supervising trainees as IT specialists
  • Deep knowledge of IT operations, project management, network and server technology
  • Willingness to be on call and travel for work
