Your mission

We are looking for an Instructional Designer (m/f/x) to join our Academy team at the appliedAI Institute for Europe gGmbH. In this role, you will design, develop, implement, and improve e-learning experiences that make trustworthy AI accessible and actionable for professionals across private and public sectors. Working alongside education experts and AI specialists, you'll transform complex AI concepts into engaging, accessible educational content that drives real-world impact.

Your tasks will include :

• Analyzing learning needs of professionals across private and public sectors
• Designing, developing, and implementing innovative and effective AI educational offerings, from interactive online courses to immersive workshops and comprehensive professional programs
• Updating, translating, and evaluating existing Academy offerings to refine them based on learner feedback and industry developments
• Collaborating closely with AI subject-matter experts to translate technical expertise into compelling learning experiences
• Applying state-of-the-art instructional methodologies and learning technologies to create both asynchronous and synchronous learning experiences
• Representing the appliedAI Institute at industry events and educational forums across Germany and Europe

Your profile

• MSc / MA in Education, Instructional Design, AI, or related fields with experience in education
• Successful track record in developing and launching educational content that achieves measurable learning outcomes
• Ability to collaborate with subject-matter experts to develop technically accurate content
• Ability to quickly master new authoring tools including Articulate 360 and Moodle, with motivation to adopt emerging AI-powered technologies for adult education and training development
• Collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional environments
• Fluent in English and German (written and spoken)

It would be advantageous to have

• Understanding of machine learning concepts, AI technologies, and experience with large language models (LLMs), with enthusiasm for integrating generative AI solutions into educational experiences
• Video production skills and experience with Learning Management System (LMS) implementation and administration
• Proficiency in collaborative platforms (Notion) and design software (Figma) for developing engaging learning materials and documentation
