Position: Senior Procurement Category Manager Metals (m/f/d)

This role reports to the Purchasing Senior Manager Metals within the Sourcing department, based in Blieskastel, Karlsruhe, or Obernai, for a permanent contract.

What will you do?

  1. Develop and implement sourcing strategies for metal raw materials supporting the company's growth.
  2. Manage policies and processes for purchasing raw materials needed for manufacturing, research, or other activities.
  3. Monitor and analyze market trends, global economic conditions, and events to inform purchasing decisions.
  4. Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply, quality, and availability of raw materials.
  5. Oversee tenders and contract negotiations to secure the best prices.
  6. Provide strategic support to internal stakeholders to meet inventory and manufacturing needs.
  7. Ensure compliance with regulations and standards related to procurement and delivery.
  8. Lead supplier innovation days and competitions to foster technology sharing and new ideas, promoting an innovative, collaborative, and high-performance environment.

What about you?

  1. You hold a university degree in business management, supply chain management, or equivalent, with 10+ years of experience in category management, preferably in metal raw materials.
  2. You are fluent in English; proficiency in German is an advantage. Knowledge of SAP and category strategies is required.
  3. You demonstrate strong negotiation and contract management skills, with the ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make decisions.
  4. You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain strategic supplier relationships.
  5. You can analyze complex situations, anticipate challenges, and develop long-term plans, demonstrating leadership, resilience, and a growth mindset.
