Bid & Tendering Expert / Senior Commercial Manager (m/f/d) for Steam Turbine & Compressor Services - Full Time - Mannheim, Germany Region or other locations

As a Bid & Tendering Expert / Senior Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in translating client requirements and site assessments into detailed project costings. Your responsibilities include ensuring tenders for Steam Turbine & Compressor equipment services are competitive, technically precise, and commercially sound. You will develop proposals for complex projects, aligning technical feasibility, cost efficiency, and commercial success.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

1. Define technical scope thoroughly and manage risks for complex Steam Turbine & Compressor service projects (e.g., inspections, repairs, parts supply, multi-train solutions, rerates, upgrades, modifications)
2. Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and commercial quotations based on technical specifications
3. Collaborate effectively with clients, external partners (vendors/subcontractors), and internal stakeholders
4. Support post-tender activities, ensuring smooth transition from bid to execution, including scope validation and project briefing
5. Work closely with suppliers to optimize procurement, pricing, lead times, and quality of parts and services
6. Improve cost estimation methods to enhance accuracy and efficiency in pricing strategies

Qualifications and skills needed:

• Engineering Degree (Bachelor’s / Master’s in Mechanical Engineering preferred)
• Technical background in rotating equipment or related fields
• Experience with steam turbines and compressors (advantageous)
• Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen
• Proactive, solution-oriented, with excellent interpersonal skills
• Fluency in German and/or French (advantageous)
