Freelance English Teacher (m/w/d)

The Carl-Schurz-Haus is well renowned for its thriving and high-quality course program, offering English classes for all ages and every need. We are looking for English speakers with teaching experience and qualifications. If you fulfill the following prerequisites, enjoy teaching English to children and are interested in working in a supportive environment with a great team, you are more than welcome to send us your application!

Minimum Requirements:

• Are from an English speaking country
• Have experience in teaching children and young adults in a foreign language (ideally English as a foreign language), with, preferably, at least 1-2 years of experience
• Have either a university degree, teaching qualifications or a TEFL qualification
• Are able to submit an ID with a valid resident’s permit and work permit (especially if not in possession of a European Union country passport. However, we are willing to help with the application for a work permit!)
• Intend to stay in the area for at least a year

Desired Qualities:

• Be personable, confident, creative, motivated, versatile and organized
• Always be punctual and well prepared
• Be able to motivate and adapt to the level and needs of the children
• Keep the use of German to an absolute minimum and allow the maximum speaking time for the participants
