In your role as Engineering Manager (m/f/d), you will shape one of our engineering teams by growing and managing it, conducting in-depth analysis, and directly impacting the business through product ideation and implementation.

Our engineering organization is critical in ensuring Flink delivers a best-in-class service. The Consumer Domain focuses on building an end-to-end experience for our customers, ensuring products are discoverable, applications are intuitive, and the customer journey—from discovering Flink to receiving orders—is seamless, delightful, and efficient.
We believe in empowering autonomous teams with challenging missions, allowing them to develop impactful solutions. As an Engineering Manager, you will:
- Lead a cross-functional engineering team responsible for developing features across the consumer lifecycle.
- Apply pragmatic solutions, find the right tradeoffs, and reduce complexity to meet business needs.
- Work closely with your Product Manager to define actionable and valuable work.
- Drive external and internal hiring, develop engineering talent, establish a feedback culture, and retain top talent.
- Translate product and business visions into technological strategies and architectures, then execute these visions.
- Own end-to-end software delivery, including monitoring and incident management of production issues.
- Maintain high product and engineering quality, continuously resolving technical debt and quality issues.
- Advocate for modern software development practices and promote excellent engineering and organizational practices.
- Create a culture of collaboration and inclusion, leading by example.
- Apply industry best practices to enhance developer satisfaction and delivery speed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience building customer-facing applications and websites.
- 2+ years of experience as an engineering leader mentoring successful teams.
- A bias towards action, balancing outcomes with perfection.
- Experience with architecture patterns like microservices, event-driven systems, and micro frontends.
- Strong interest in business problems and empathy for customers.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Kotlin, and/or JavaScript.
- Good listening and communication skills.
- Self-driven, professional, and aspirational.
- Ability to see the big picture and dive into details when needed.
- Business fluency in English.
