Job Description:

Robert Bosch GmbH is seeking a PhD candidate to investigate degradation mechanisms in PEM electrolyzers, crucial for advancing green hydrogen production. Your work will involve developing electrochemical and analytical methods, designing experiments to understand aging stressors, and establishing models to predict the health of PEM electrolyzer components under industrial conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with an international research team and product development teams, utilizing field data to uncover real-world degradation mechanisms.
  • Conduct high-quality research, leveraging internal and external expertise.
  • Take initiative in your PhD project, balancing academic and industrial supervision, and staying informed to maximize efficiency.
  • Publish findings in high-impact journals and share knowledge with interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or related fields.
  • Strong background in electrochemistry, fuel cells, or electrolyzers; experience with characterization techniques like CV, LSV, EIS.
  • Basic programming skills (e.g., Python) and familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., Comsol) are advantageous.

Personal Attributes:

  • Open-minded, critical thinker, collaborative, motivated, eager to learn.
  • Proficient in English; German is a plus but not mandatory.
