Our client is a leading multinational engineering services provider and general contractor who employ over 2,000 and deliver leading-edge construction solutions across a range of key sectors including Data Centres, Healthcare, Life Sciences and Technology, Fire protection, Building Services, and Technical Support Services. They are currently seeking a Senior Authorised Person to join them on Data Centre Projects in Germany.You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Implementing, administering, monitoring and auditing the Electrical Safety Rules.
  • Provide the necessary cover for all systems and installations for which the company has control of the electrical danger.
  • Ensure operation and Energisation procedures for work on LV&MV systems is adhered to on the project.
  • Manage the appointment of authorised persons on the project and save all appointment forms on BIM360.
  • Manage the LOTO processes and procedures onsite in alignment with the Operation and Energisation procedures for work on LV&MV systems.
  • Ensure the low voltage switching plans are executed on site for all LV circuits.
  • Ensure the high voltage / medium voltage switching plans are executed on site for all HV/MV circuits.
  • Take responsibility for the supervision and leadership of the prospective systems carrying out switching operations on the HV/LV system.
  • Were applicable and directed by management team, implement the QR code process for each ACB/MCCB on the project.
  • Maintain a register of all training records, plus any other relevant information regarding the authorisation in an ongoing basis
  • Ensure staff are trained to local authorised persons requirements.
  • Ensure authorised persons have complete high voltage or low voltage training courses in alignment with the Operation and Energisation procedures for work on LV&MV systems.
  • Ensure that relevant information in circulated on Operational Restrictions and Dangerous Occurrences.
  • Manage all electrical permits on the projects in alignment with the Operation and Energisation procedures for work on LV&MV systems.
  • Present toolbox talks to the project teams at regular intervals throughout the project. The TBT’s can be shared with the safety teams and executed by the safety team where agreed.
  • Prior to power on, execute the following – tool box talk to project team, install electrical signage throughout the project and highlight power on date, develop pack of information with all test documentation for circuits being powered on, ensure AP’s have being appointed for the project.
  • Responsible for ensuring electrical signage is in place on the project.
  • Ensure that a system is in place to investigate any equipment subject to an Operational Restriction.
  • Investigate all Dangerous Occurrences and incidents involving electrical equipment, systems and installations for which the Authorising Engineer is responsible.
  • Agree any local deviation that may be necessary for their application to a particular item of equipment, or location.
  • Ensuring that all Accidents, Incidents or Dangerous Occurrence associated with work on Electrical Distribution Systems, are immediately notified to the Designated Person.
  • Ensuring the correct Arc Flash PPE is worn by personnel working within electrical rooms in alignment with details stipulated within the arc flash study.
  • Implements and is accountable for a management system that ensures all switching schedules have been reviewed and approved for use by the relevant technical authority
  • The day-to-day management of the maintenance and operation of the Technical Services Electrical engineering on the portfolio of data centres under management.
  • Implementing and Managing Maintenance policies for the Technical Services Department.
  • Attendance at Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings and Handover Meetings.
  • Assistance with the close out of all project items including Final Account, O & M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, Material and Plant re-locations, Project Plan – all with the support of the site project manager.
  • Drive culture of safety and quality through the project.
  • Provide the safety and quality leadership.
  • Ensure all Subcontractor documentation including safety documentation is maintained up to date and filed for future reference.
You Will Need:
  • A trade background and 10 - 15 years previous experience managing large installation projects and sub-contractors.
  • Completed high voltage authorised person training course in last 2 years
  • Completed low voltage authorised person training course in last 2 years
  • Proven record of supervising and managing large installation projects
