Specialist (m/f/d) Procurement Sustainability & Compliance is responsible for managing procurement sustainability and compliance-related functions. This role ensures (measures and reports) that procurement strategies align with environmental, social, and governance principles while maintaining regulatory compliance and ethical supply chain practices. The position requires collaboration with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to drive responsible sourcing, reduce environmental impact, and enhance corporate sustainability efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities to enhance supplier sustainability performance, including carbon footprint reduction, circular economy initiatives, and ethical sourcing.
- Collaborate with procurement, operations, and sustainability teams to integrate environmental and social responsibility into supplier selection and contract management.
- Ensure procurement practices comply with environmental and social regulations, including ISO 20400 (Sustainable Procurement), CSRD, CSDDD, SEC ESG disclosures, modern slavery laws, etc
- Conduct supplier audits and risk assessments to evaluate environmental impact, human rights compliance, and ethical business practices.
- Work with internal teams on mitigation plans for supply chain risks related to sustainability and compliance.
- Stay updated on evolving global sustainability regulations and ensure procurement strategies meet legal requirements.
- Work with suppliers to improve sustainability performance, encourage green innovation, and reduce environmental impact.
- Develop and implement supplier sustainability scorecards to assess compliance against all standards.
- Promote ethical labor practices and responsible sourcing across the supply chain.
- Develop and maintain procurement-related sustainability reports and compliance documentation.
- Track and report key sustainability metrics
- Work with internal teams to ensure accurate sustainability disclosures in corporate reports.
- Work with procurement teams on sustainability standards, ethical sourcing, and regulatory compliance.
- Engage with external stakeholders and industry groups to ensure procurement strategies are aligned global sustainability goals.
- Advocate for the adoption of sustainable procurement technologies and digital solutions.
Requirements:
- Completed commercial education, ideally supplemented by further training with a focus on sourcing or a degree with a focus on business administration or industrial engineering.
- Several years of professional experience in procurement and compliance, ideally combined with sustainability topics.
- Strong understanding of responsible sourcing, ethical supply chain management, and sustainability reporting.
- Excellent project management and data analysis skills.
- Ability to collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and external regulatory bodies.
- Proficiency in procurement and sustainability reporting tools (e.g., SAP Ariba, EcoVadis, CDP Supply Chain).
- Enjoyment in working in international teams
- Strong communication skills
- Fluent English proficiency
