Software Developer - Modelling & Simulation (d/f/m), Friedrichshafen

Job Description:

We are seeking a Software Developer - Modelling & Simulation (d/f/m) to strengthen the "Operational Analysis and Studies" department within "Studies and Simulation" in Friedrichshafen.

Our team develops innovative architectures for future Systems of Systems and products. Our proprietary simulation framework is key for operational analysis, enabling system optimization and early design decisions. You will work in an international environment, closely coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, such as customers and project partners. Your responsibilities include implementing complex simulation architectures for the FCAS program and related studies.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Participating in agile project teams for simulation-based studies and research projects.
  • Developing and enhancing our proprietary simulation tools, adding new features like models and interfaces.
  • Implementing user and system requirements for system simulations.
  • Developing simulation tools for operational analysis in military contexts (land, air, sea, cyber) and system networking (e.g., Multi Domain Combat Cloud - MDCC).
  • Participating in meetings with clients and stakeholders, preparing study results for presentations, and representing the team at client sites.
  • Supporting the proposal process for work packages, including descriptions and effort estimates.
  • Collaborating with other departments, experts, and external partners.

Qualifications:

  • Degree (Bachelor/Master) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience in development and simulation, with software project involvement.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and Python (or similar).
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) is advantageous.
  • Basic familiarity with collaborative tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Understanding of software architecture and UML tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect).
  • Knowledge of 3D, OpenGL, Virtual/Augmented Reality, Game Engines (e.g., Unity3D) is a plus.
  • Fluent/proficient German and English skills, written and spoken.
  • Independent, reliable work style, analytical thinking, strong communication, and teamwork skills.
