As a Structural Bonding Application Engineer for Transportation and Electronics Business Group, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders in the automotive industry.
  • Engaging with automotive customers to understand their needs and developing tailored solutions to improve manufacturing and structural efficiency.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product development, and sales, to drive the successful implementation of new applications and products.
  • Providing technical support and expertise to customers, including conducting on-site visits, product demonstrations, and training sessions.
  • Analyzing industry trends and identifying opportunities for new applications and product programs in the automotive sector.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in structural adhesives and automotive manufacturing processes.
  • Preparing and presenting technical reports, proposals, and presentations to internal and external audiences.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in the automotive industry, with a focus on structural adhesives and bonding applications.
  • Strong understanding of structural design principles and automotive manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Fluent in English and German.

Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with CAD software and simulation tools.

Job specifics:

  • On-site job in Neuss.
  • Travel expectations: May include up to 30% within DACH.
