Your Impact

As the pioneer of our data function, you will lay the foundation for how Tacto leverages data as a strategic asset, shaping our competitive advantage for years to come. You’ll build our data analytics infrastructure from the ground up, implementing both fundamental best practices and cutting-edge AI technologies.

As the first Data Analyst at Tacto, you will play a key role in helping us ask the right questions and then answer them with data-driven insights. You'll be working with one of the most extensive procurement datasets globally. Our platform already covers 600,000+ suppliers, millions of articles, and tens of millions of orders. Your work will directly contribute to our mission: future-proofing the supply chains of the industrial “Mittelstand” and securing their competitiveness long-term.

Your Tasks

1. Building our modern data infrastructure: Design and implement a scalable data warehouse that integrates our key sources (Hubspot, Segment, application databases) into a unified view of the business.
2. Enabling self-service analytics: Create intuitive data marts and a metadata-rich catalog that make our data assets discoverable and usable without requiring deep technical knowledge of raw data structures.
3. Implementing AI-powered analytics: Build tools that allow team members to query data using natural language and run calculations in a sandbox environment, making data insights accessible across the organization.
4. Supporting product development: Partner with product teams on data-intensive features like customer savings calculations and search ranking algorithms, providing tooling that enables experimentation with data-driven improvements.
5. Developing data models for customer use cases: Create pipelines and processes that leverage our complex procurement data to solve specific business challenges and deliver customer value.
6. Become AI Native: Proactively identify opportunities to leverage AI to accelerate your work, experiment with new approaches, and share successful workflows – contributing to Tacto's culture of high-velocity execution and innovation.

Your Profile

Now you may wonder what experiences and skills you need for this role. We believe that problem-solving, creativity, and drive are more important than tools that can be picked up. However, the following references will give a guideline of what experiences we think might be helpful.

• You have 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Engineer, or similar role
• You have experience in a high-growth startup that has successfully scaled (you've "seen it already") or a similar fast-paced environment
• You have strong SQL skills and experience setting up data warehouses like Snowflake
• You are proficient in Python for data processing and automation
• You can break down complex problems into manageable components
• You have a track record of implementing AI in data analysis projects (e.g., setting up natural language querying of company data)
• You take a proactive approach to helping stakeholders clarify their hypotheses before diving into analysis
• An engineering or product background is a plus
• German (C2) is a plus, but not required
