Interior Project Engineer

As a Project Engineer specializing in architectural interior outfitting, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the design, procurement, and implementation of specific onboard assemblies such as rooms and public areas (restaurants, crew spaces, etc.), flooring, artificial greenery, and other integrated systems. Your key responsibilities include:

  1. Technical Ownership: Managing individual interior assemblies from design to delivery, ensuring alignment with project goals and quality standards.
  2. Supplier & Design Management: Coordinating with external suppliers and, when needed, contributing to the technical development and detailing of outfitted spaces and systems.
  3. 3D Design Oversight: Acting as the main interface between internal teams and design partners, supervising 3D modeling processes to ensure feasibility and compliance with shipbuilding standards.
  4. Procurement & Logistics: Supporting procurement efforts, including preparation of purchase requisitions, managing supplier inputs, and contributing to turnkey solution evaluations.
  5. Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborating closely with procurement, design, and construction teams, as well as managing technical communication between different suppliers, trades, and stakeholders.
  6. Construction & Commissioning Support: Addressing technical queries during construction, participating in system commissioning, and supporting service acceptance and handover processes.
  7. Client Interface: Maintaining professional communication with customers, including shipping companies and architects, ensuring satisfaction and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  1. Highly educated (Master's Degree) with a solid technical degree in Architecture, Mechanical, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or a similar field.
  2. Bonus points for experience in the maritime industry, especially ship outfitting or high-end interior design projects.
  3. Proficient with CAD tools—particularly CATIA V6 and AutoCAD—and capable of translating concepts into 3D models.
  4. Fluent in English, both written and spoken; German skills are a plus.
  5. Highly communicative, proactive, eager to learn, and adaptable to training.
  6. Deadline-oriented, skilled in negotiation, and known for precision, independence, and reliability.
  7. Willing to relocate to Northern Germany.
