Get to Know our Team

In Agoda’s Back-End Engineering department, we build scalable, fault-tolerant systems and APIs that host our core business logic. Our systems cover all major areas of our business: inventory and pricing, product information, customer data, communications, partner data, booking systems, payments, and more. We employ state-of-the-art CI/CD and testing techniques to ensure everything works without downtime. Our systems are self-healing, responding gracefully to extreme loads or unexpected input. We use modern languages like Kotlin and Scala, Data technologies Kafka, Spark, MLflow, Kubeflow, VastStorage, StarRocks and agile development practices. Most importantly, we hire great people from around the world and empower them to be successful.

The Opportunity

Agoda Platform team is looking for developers to work on mission-critical systems that serve millions of users daily. You will have the chance to work on innovative projects, using cutting-edge technologies, and make a significant impact on our business and the travel industry.

In this Role, you’ll get to:

• Architect and develop highly scalable, mission-critical back-end systems
• Own a significant portion of Agoda’s system, from vision to implementation
• Collaborate across teams on big projects, improving service quality, code, and architecture
• Provide feedback, foster an inclusive environment, and champion engineering fundamentals
• Identify and implement optimization opportunities focusing on cost, efficiency, velocity, and developer happiness
• Exhibit technical leadership and communicate complex trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders

What you’ll Need to Succeed:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering roles
• Hands-on experience owning production services with significant impact
• Curiosity about technological improvements and open-source advancements
• Strong programming skills in Kotlin, Scala, Java, C#
• Ability to research deeply and make decisions on complex projects
• Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences
• Understanding of challenges across the entire engineering stack, including Front End/Mobile and Data Analytics
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

This position is based in Bangkok, Thailand. (Relocation package provided)
