Job Description

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining backend infrastructure, APIs, and services to support supply-demand matching initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to be autonomous and creative in shaping our product strategy and implementing innovative white-label solutions.

• Listing Sort Order
• Listing Machine Learning Recommendation
• Listing Classified Quality Score

What You Can Expect

• Impact a large number of stakeholders within a tech organization with 50+ delivery teams.
• Design and implement scalable backend systems for classified ranking, marketplace quality, and matching efficiency across markets.
• Challenge and evaluate existing scoring systems for seamless migration to white-label capabilities.
• Build RESTful APIs, implement data validation and authentication for secure communication.
• Optimize backend components for performance, scalability, and security, with flexibility for white-label configurations.
• Conduct code reviews, ensure coding standards, and maintain backend quality.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Analysts for seamless data flow and integration.
• Monitor backend system performance and implement improvements for efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, data-driven, collaborative.
• Fast learner, curious, problem solver, proactive attitude.

Tech Skills

• Solid experience in building backends, APIs, data solutions, distributed systems.
• Experience with microservices, serverless, or event-driven architectures.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages (Python, JS/TS, Java, Kotlin, C#, Go, etc.).
• Nice to have: DevOps, Data Engineering, or Data Science experience.

We use a variety of technologies including AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc.), Python, TypeScript, OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, Jupyter, pandas, GitHub, CircleCI, Datadog, Terraform, Docker.
