The Finance Business Partner will play a key role in building end-to-end processes to drive insights and analysis to enhance Reference Labs' financial performance outside of North America. This position will support financial planning, analysis, and performance reporting while providing compelling business insights to optimize resource allocation and support key initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in simplifying complex data, navigating diverse datasets, and creating new reporting insights focused on business needs vs. just supporting financial reporting cycles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Support financial business partnering for laboratory operations, developing end-to-end processes to report financial performance metrics, analyze cost structures, and track capital expenditures.
  2. Provide accurate and timely insights to key stakeholders, acting as a catalyst for change by offering external perspectives, financial insights, and effective framing of issues.
  3. Navigate complex data sources using modern digital tools, working cross-functionally, visualizing data, and storytelling to engage stakeholders. Drive the digital finance agenda—moving from reporting to planning and insights.
  4. Assist in project-specific financial planning, including ROI analysis, cost management, and resource allocation decisions.
  5. Prepare Year-End Estimate financial forecasts, analyzing and reviewing them against plans and prior years, identifying risks and opportunities, and communicating insights effectively.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  1. Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes for international laboratory operations.
  2. Develop new financial models to identify waste, opportunities for improvement, and guide financial performance initiatives.
  3. Partner with laboratory leadership to define and monitor project budgets and operational forecasts, ensuring fiscal discipline.
  4. Support long-term planning (3+ years) in collaboration with key stakeholders for the reference lab business.

Cost Management and Optimization:

  1. Identify, quantify, and track cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiencies.
  2. Conduct cost-benefit analyses for projects, new technologies, and process improvements.
  3. Communicate capital asset planning based on long-term property strategies and budgets.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  1. Partner with operations, manufacturing, engineering, and R&D teams to generate insights and analyses.
  2. Collaborate with regional and global finance teams to standardize processes, improve communication, and clarify ways of working, including performance insights and key actions.
  3. Participate actively in the SDx finance team, fostering a network across Mars finance to build regional capabilities and share best practices.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  1. Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and regulations.
  2. Identify financial risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies.
  3. Uphold the company's commitment to integrity and ethical conduct, encouraging reporting of violations and questions to foster accountability and trust.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in finance or business analysis; experience in finance business partnership preferred.
  3. Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced analytics.
  4. Expertise in ERP systems, financial tools, and MS Office applications.
