Senior Shopify Architect - German speaking

In this role, you'll be responsible for the architecture and implementation of advanced Shopify setups, headless or classic, local or global. You'll bring your knowledge to projects, pitches, and our platform strategy, working closely with developers, UX designers, strategists, and client service teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design complex Shopify architectures, including data modeling, theme structures, API integrations, and middleware layers.
• Advise clients on technical decisions and translate business requirements into scalable, future-proof solutions.
• Lead implementation and provide technical direction to interdisciplinary project teams.
• Evaluate and integrate new Shopify capabilities (e.g., Shopify Functions, Hydrogen, Oxygen) and proactively drive innovation within the team.
• Document best practices, help evolve Shopify standards, and mentor other developers.
• Support presales activities, assess technical feasibility, and help identify the best solutions for each client.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 2 years of developing with Shopify and the broader Shopify ecosystem (Liquid, Storefront API, Admin API, etc.)
• 5 years of working with modern frontend stacks (e.g., React, Vue) and familiarity with commerce architectures
• Working proficiency in German (C1) and English (C1)
• Willingness to travel on a (bi)monthly basis
• Experience with complex commerce projects, taking ownership from discovery to delivery
• A strategic thinker who can see the big picture and solve deep technical challenges
• Experience with client-facing situations and cross-disciplinary collaboration
