Group Packaging Expert Flexible (all gender) - 2 years contract

We are seeking a parental leave replacement for our Group Packaging Competence Team as a Group Packaging Expert Flexible (m/f/d) in Düsseldorf (contract duration: 2 years).

As part of our group-wide team, you will develop modern, sustainable, resource-efficient, and future-oriented packaging materials. This includes creating new flexible packaging solutions and advancing existing technologies and processes.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues from Group Packaging, Regional Packaging Teams across Europe, Marketing, Sustainability, and Procurement to identify new business opportunities and develop innovative packaging solutions.

Main Responsibilities

1. Manage the flexible packaging category by developing, implementing, and overseeing our international flexible packaging strategy.
2. Identify risks and opportunities for improvement within our packaging portfolio, focusing on standardization, harmonization, and simplification.
3. Lead flexible packaging projects and define measures to meet targets.
4. Monitor, control, and report on flexible packaging initiatives, considering total cost of ownership, in partnership with stakeholders.
5. Drive sustainability initiatives to reduce packaging weight and waste while maintaining product integrity, aligning with Intersnack Group standards.
6. Hold a Master’s degree in packaging technology or possess comparable technical expertise.
7. Have at least 4 years of relevant experience in packaging, particularly in developing and implementing flexible packaging solutions.
8. Possess deep understanding and practical experience with flexible packaging processing and production, preferably in the food industry.
9. Experience in portfolio analysis and setting development standards.
10. Proven project management skills, capable of leading complex projects within a multinational organization.
11. Be a flexible, independent team player with a positive attitude, willing to support where needed.
12. Fluent in business English (written and spoken); German language skills are advantageous.
13. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.
14. Have a passion for packaging, products, and people.
