Your mission

We are looking for a proactive Information Security Manager (m/f/d) to join our mission-driven team at appliedAI Initiative GmbH. Help us secure the foundation of Europe’s leading AI initiative by driving our information security strategy and protecting our digital assets. As the main point of contact for all IT security matters, you will play a key role in safeguarding our operations, supporting teams, and ensuring compliance. • Serving as the main point of contact for all IT security matters across the company, supporting all teams and stakeholders
• Analyzing and optimizing business processes to enhance information security and reduce risk
• Developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s information security management system and related policies
• Overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of security systems for both on-premises and cloud environments
• Monitoring for vulnerabilities, managing incident response, and coordinating root cause analysis and reporting
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, including ISO 27001
• Collaborating with IT, AI, and business teams to embed security best practices throughout all company processes

Your profile

• Master’s degree in cybersecurity or related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong knowledge of IT security, governance, risk, and compliance
• Experience integrating security into business processes for optimal results
• Understanding of information security’s strategic role within organizations
• Hands-on expertise with ISO 27001 and security frameworks, familiarity with SIEM tools and Azure cloud environments
• Professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, CCSP) are a plus
• Fluent English skills; German skills are an advantage
