We are looking for a highly motivated, intelligent, positive candidate eager to work in a mainframe environment with experienced developers. The role involves adding new features and enhancements to the Adabas mainframe product line, embracing new innovative technologies. The candidate should be someone who takes pride in constantly improving, is passionate about delivering quality software, has strong communication skills, and is oriented towards being part of a dynamic team. They should take ownership and responsibility for their software deliverables and be able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  1. Comprehensive knowledge and experience with current Mainframe assembler.
  2. Good analytical (abstract reasoning) and debugging skills when maintaining existing products.
  3. Robust testing of code at all levels of QA.
  4. Collaboration with QA, providing guidance, direction, and training.
  5. Documentation skills for new or existing products.
  6. Proactive analysis and testing to ensure high quality.
  7. Contributing creative, innovative ideas to solve complex problems.
  8. Experience in leadership, mentoring, and collaboration with other developers or groups.

About You

Skills and Experience

  1. At least 10 years of professional software development experience.
  2. Strong time-management skills and ability to handle complexities and priorities.
  3. Judgment, experience, analytical and debugging skills, and business sense for decision-making.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience coordinating across teams.
  5. Solid knowledge and use of IBM Assembler.
  6. Experience with automated testing tools.
  7. Solid knowledge of IBM z/OS.
  8. Ability to work in a diverse, geographically distributed team.
