Continental Automotive is entering into 'Fabless Semiconductor Solutions'. The goal is to build a robust supply base with a Zero Defect Quality Culture and a streamlined value chain, with new responsibilities and interface definitions for suppliers. The best-fit supplier strategy will be applied to achieve optimal market conditions for our company.
Your tasks and responsibilities include:
- Reporting to Global Category Sensor & ASICs, aim to ensure "Best in Class" supplier quality performance to meet Continental's business and quality targets.
- Manage quality for customer-owned tooling processes, semiconductor solutions components sourcing, design, development, and release, including sub-releases.
- Define, drive, and implement a best-in-class supplier and component strategy by setting quality requirements, sharing lessons learned, and engaging early in supplier and technology selection.
- Lead supplier development and improvement activities at supplier sites.
- Develop and implement semiconductor solutions procedures, guidelines, and tools aligned with the Zero-defect strategy.
- Oversee component development quality and Material Life Cycle (MLC) release activities in collaboration with R&D, technical operations, and test engineering.
- Support manufacturing quality through MRB decisions, 8D problem solving, failure analysis, escalation, test coverage, and risk assessments.
- Establish and maintain specific requirements for semiconductor solutions, including audits, certifications, and technical capabilities for foundries, OSAT, and test suppliers.
- Support product and process change requests, including supplier PCNs, ensuring thorough qualification of changes.
- Manage data systems to monitor and report supplier quality KPIs regularly.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering; Master's degree or equivalent preferred.
- Several years of experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor design, processes, testing, quality systems, and component qualification.
- Expertise in manufacturing data analytics, failure analysis, and IC design quality preferred.
- Understanding of automotive practices such as APQP/PPAP.
- Business-fluent English and basic German skills (spoken and written).
- Ability to lead process improvements, supplier development, and audits with frequent travel.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
