Purpose and Objectives

Within the Product Engineering Group, the Cloud Lifecycle Management Application team provides central tools and architectures for provisioning and operating various SAP Cloud solutions. One of our main products is the Service Provider Cockpit (SPC), which is the de-facto standard suite for service operations in SAP’s major cloud units. The team drives the design, implementation and “productization” of key lifecycle management services required to drive operations excellence for SAP’s cloud delivery.

What you'll do

As a Developer within the SAP Operations Engineering & Automation Team, you will take over accountability for excellent execution of SAP’s Cloud strategy. You will be dealing with the full development cycle, from discussing requirements with our (internal) customers, to design, architecture, implementation, bug fixing and troubleshooting. You will work closely with international colleagues on development projects with the following activities:

Design appealing and sustainable solutions for cloud operations using Hana and ABAP Development
Optimize and simplify existing processes and code in the area of Hana based analytical reporting
Perform agile prototyping to evaluate which solution fits best for cloud operations.
Develop UIs and APIs in a model-driven way

Software Development Skills
- Proven Programming skills in object oriented language like C/C++ and Java
- Programming skills in script based languages like Perl or Shell
- ABAP OO language as well as good database knowledge are an advantage
- Experience in fundamental web technologies such as http, SOAP, XML, REST, HTML5, CSS, JQuery
- Engagement in the open source community
- Follower of the latest development trends, tools and technology
- Experience in model and test driven development
Education
- Bachelor/Master Degree in Computer Science or comparable IT apprenticeship
- Fluent in German (verbal/written) is must have.
- Fluent in English (verbal/written) is much appreciated.
Personal Skills
- Passion for programming/coding and practical knowledge of at least two object-oriented programming languages
- Good knowledge in Unix based operating systems
- SAP Netweaver knowledge would be highly appreciated
- Passion for innovation.

- Very strong analytical and logical skills
