Overview

Responsible for assisting the Manager in supporting all Shipping, Receiving, and Stock Room functions to ensure team effectiveness and achievement of performance targets. The Logistics Team Leader assists with employee training and must be capable of performing all functions in Shipping, Receiving, and the Stock Room. Ensures compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.

Professional Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School (Hochschulreife) diploma required.
  • Certification in IATA and ATR to be completed within the first six months.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in Shipping/Receiving/Stock Room or manufacturing-related roles.
  • At least three (3) years of supervisory or group leader experience.

Position Responsibilities

Shipping

  • Oversee the staging, picking, packing, labeling, and shipping of orders, ensuring compliance with regulations and company procedures to prevent damage.
  • Process customer orders, verifying details and ensuring accuracy before shipping.
  • Understand and comply with carrier requirements for domestic and international shipments, including ATR and IATA regulations.
  • Prepare shipping documents and coordinate with carriers, customers, and freight forwarders.
  • Manage shipment information requests and update order statuses.
  • Ensure proper labeling, including for dangerous goods and fragile materials.
  • Manage packing slips and pick lists, entering data accurately into systems.
  • Estimate weights and calculate shipping costs.
  • Procure necessary tools and equipment.
  • Address quality control issues and parts discrepancies, collaborating with engineering and supply chain teams.
  • Maintain shipping equipment and suggest process improvements.
  • Monitor KPIs and suggest enhancements.
  • Manage engineering change orders related to shipping.
  • Administer ERP and related systems.

Receiving

  • Supervise and assist with receiving incoming parts and materials, reconciling discrepancies.
  • Ensure inspection procedures are followed and initiate NCMRs for defective parts.
  • Route parts for further inspection as needed.
  • Assist in stocking parts for various departments and ensure accurate labeling and delivery.
  • Support receipt of items for repairs or services.

Stock Room

  • Oversee stock room activities, including cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Verify inventory accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and adjust counts accordingly.
  • Provide service to stock room customers and maintain organized storage.
  • Ensure accurate computer transactions for issues and receipts.
  • Efficiently pick and kit parts for assembly, implementing process improvements.
  • Identify nonconforming materials and generate NCMRs.
  • Label and mark stock items properly and ensure proper rotation.
  • Inspect stock items for wear or damage and coordinate transfers and shipments of defective parts.
  • Develop innovations in stock room practices, including smart carts and floor stocking.

General

  • Assist in cross-training employees and serve as backup for other functions.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and ensure a safe, clean work environment.
