Your Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with CMP equipment in a semiconductor fab environment

  • Proven hands-on experience with tool installation, initial fab ramp-up, or expansion projects

  • Deep technical expertise in CMP processes, including planarization control, slurry management, and pad conditioning systems

  • Familiarity with supporting infrastructure such as slurry delivery, filtration, and waste/sludge management

  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills with the ability to implement corrective actions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field

The Role

Black Semiconductor is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Equipment Engineer – CMP(Chemical Mechanical Planarization) to support and lead the buildout of our Black FabONE semiconductor fabrication facility. This role focuses on the selection, installation, and optimization of CMP equipment and will play a key part in bringing up our cleanroom production

The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing our CMP capabilities, making a direct impact on the growth and success of our semiconductor manufacturing operations


To join our team, you should be excited to

  • Serve as the CMP equipment lead during the facility’s construction and ramp-up phase

  • Collaborate with design and facilities teams to define tool layout, cleanroom integration, and infrastructure requirements (chemical delivery, exhaust systems, water supply)

  • Lead the technical evaluation, selection, and procurement of CMP tools in partnership with process engineers and suppliers

  • Oversee the installation lifecycle, including delivery, utility hook-up, tool acceptance, and qualification

  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs and equipment documentation

  • Support process integration and yield improvement through equipment optimization and root cause analysis
