Limbic Entertainment is seeking an experienced Engine Programmer (m/f/d) to join our team!

As an Engine Programmer, you will build the foundations for our innovative games. You are specialized in game technology, passionate about 3D engines, especially Unreal Engine. You have participated in professional gaming industry projects, worked on custom or modified off-the-shelf engines, and can analyze and modify engine architecture to meet project needs.

Your responsibilities include:

• Implementing engine-focused gameplay functionalities and tools in Unreal Engine 5
• Optimizing systems at the engine level
• Analyzing and maintaining large codebases, supporting technical artists and level designers
• Evaluating and integrating new tools, maintaining production engine code

Skills we value:

• Several years of experience in game development, with PC/Console titles and engine work
• Multiple released products
• Experience with Unreal Engine or equivalent
• Strong C++ skills and familiarity with Visual Studio
• Knowledge of OOP, Design Patterns, TDD, UML, and performance optimization
• Ability to work with large codebases and third-party code
• Familiarity with performance analysis tools like PIX, UE4 Profiler, etc.
• Problem-solving skills and a positive attitude
• High interest in games and emerging tech
• EU citizenship or valid work permit for Germany is a plus
