Payments


Payments is a core product for Cash Management and a key growth area in Deutsche Bank's strategy. To support growth ambitions and maintain our position as a leading global player in the competitive payments market, we are investing significantly in Deutsche Bank's payment infrastructure.

The team delivers a set of key applications in the Payment Integration Platform, which serve as the single entry point for all payments across the Corporate Bank and the entire enterprise. The applications process over '?'100 Billion transactions monthly across 42 countries in Europe, APAC, and the Americas.

As a Senior DBA Engineer (f/m/x), you will provide expertise in design and infrastructure from both Oracle database and Java application perspectives, supporting several applications within the bank's Payments domain. We currently operate with EXACC Oracle 19c, managing 1-10 Tb of real data and handling 10-100 TPS on average for various applications.

Your key responsibilities

  • Design and develop new functionality, including coding, testing, and reviewing changes made by team members.
  • Participate actively in application roadmap planning, focusing on data/database changes and optimizations.
  • Understand data retention policies and regulations, and develop optimal data design solutions accordingly.
  • Assist in resolving production issues by providing expert support and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
  • Collaborate closely with the corporate DBA team.

Your skills and experiences

  • Proven experience as an Oracle DBA/Developer: Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle Exadata. Certifications are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of OOP and design patterns, with expertise in Java code that interacts with databases. Familiarity with JDBC, Mybatis, Hibernate, or Spring JPA.
  • Experience monitoring database performance, tuning SQL queries, and resolving bottlenecks, including AWR analysis.
  • Good mathematical skills and understanding of algorithms and complexity.
  • Hands-on experience developing large-scale enterprise systems.
