Shift Manager (m/w/d)

Key job responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with occupational safety regulations and environmental protection standards
• Deriving actionable recommendations and specific measures for process improvement based on key figures such as safety, productivity, and quality
• Leading and training a team of up to 100 employees
• Planning and controlling internal processes
• Participating in overarching projects to optimize customer satisfaction
• Managing resources and workflows effectively
• Collaborating with upstream and downstream departments on-site

A day in the life

You work in different shifts at one of our operational sites. Your main focus is on maintaining safety standards and overseeing process efficiency. Your daily priorities include team management, operational activities, handling escalations, process improvements, and emergency planning. You collaborate with colleagues from other teams and external partners to meet customer requirements and internal standards, analyzing data and performance metrics with leadership and discussing technical improvements with the technical team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Successfully completed university degree (Bachelor's or Master's) before starting work
• Proficient in English and German, both spoken and written
• Relevant experience in data analysis

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Interest in leadership roles and managing a diverse team globally
• Experience communicating with various stakeholders, including colleagues and managers
• Experience in logistics environment
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

The logistics department at Amazon (AMZL) handles last-mile logistics, delivering packages in partnership with third-party providers. We innovate and implement initiatives to improve the delivery experience and introduce global delivery solutions for services like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, and Amazon Restaurants. Our team includes internal staff preparing products for shipment and external delivery partners working with Amazon Flex.
