About the Role

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing and evolving the mechanical architecture of our Robotic Kitchen. You will lead the mechanical design of new modules and subsystems, own complex mechanical challenges from ideation to production, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead design, testing, and release of mechanical components and subsystems.
• Own modules from early design to production.
• Collaborate with suppliers, oversee DFM, and manage industrialization.
• Work with Robotics, Electrical, Culinary, and Operations teams.
• Improve existing modules for performance, manufacturability, and cost.
• Execute documentation, testing plans, and risk assessments.
• Contribute to engineering standards and processes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4–7 years experience in mechanical design for complex products.
• Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and manufacturing drawings.
• Experience with manufacturing techniques like sheet metal, welding, 3D printing, injection molding, casting.
• Proven prototyping, testing, and validation skills.
• Support for product innovation and scaling.
• Knowledge of norms, standards, and safety analysis.
• Solution-driven, entrepreneurial mindset.
• Excellent English communication; German is a plus.
• Experience in food-tech or hardware is advantageous.
