Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially focused Finance Business Partner to lead all financial activities in Germany and Austria. As the sole finance lead for Germany/Austria, you will act as the CFO for the local business, partnering closely with the General Manager and Country Leadership Team to drive performance, enable strategic investment decisions, and ensure robust financial governance.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role that combines strategic planning with operational execution. You will play a key role in steering the business toward sustainable growth through financial insight, scenario planning, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the Country General Manager and Leadership Team, ensuring strong financial stewardship and commercial support.
  • Lead country-level financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis, aligned with Incyte’s Vision 8 objectives.
  • Provide financial decision support for product launches, brand investments, and market access initiatives, including reimbursement dynamics and payback obligations.
  • Deliver actionable insights through financial modelling, business case development, and scenario analysis.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Brand Teams, Market Access, Medical, and Commercial Ops to optimize P&L management.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to drive operational and financial efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, local regulatory requirements, and corporate financial policies.
  • Collaborate with HQ Finance and Shared Services on statutory reporting, AR collections, VAT, tax, treasury, and audit matters.
  • Represent Finance on the Country Leadership Team, contributing to organizational development and strategic planning.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of finance experience, with proven leadership in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences environment.
  • Strong commercial mindset with experience supporting country-level P&L, product launches, and cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent in both German and English (written and spoken); experience in multinational and matrix environments is essential.
  • Deep understanding of IFRS/local GAAP, compliance standards, and financial planning/reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, Power BI).
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with a proactive, hands-on approach and a proven ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to shape the financial and commercial success of a priority market within a fast-growing biotech company.
  • A high-impact role with strong visibility and influence in both country and regional decision-making.
  • A collaborative, innovation-driven culture committed to advancing science and improving patient outcomes.
