Head of IT Operations & Security (f/m/x/d)

Our team is looking for an experienced Head of IT Operations & Security to take full ownership of our
organization's technology infrastructure, with a focus on Mobile Device Management (MDM),
authentication systems, and the development of a robust IT security and usage policy. The
ideal candidate will haveextensive hands-on experiencewith tools like JAMF, Intune, and
Okta, along with a proven track record of designing, establishing and enforcing robust, secure
and user-friendly IT systems to ensure security, scalability, and compliance.

Your Responsibility

• Lead and mentor IT team while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, reliability and accountability.
• Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise-level MDM solutions (JAMF for Apple devices and Intune for Windows and Android devices) and ensure seamless device lifecycle management.
• Manage and optimize identity and access management systems, with a focus on Okta.
• Ensure strong authentication and access practices across the company, including rollout and enforcement of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Single Sign-On (SSO) across all applications and services.
• Develop, document, implement and enforce IT policies covering device usage, security standards, data access, and incident response.
• Manage relationships with technology vendors to ensure performance, cost-efficiency and SLAs alignment.
• Take end-to-end ownership of IT security, including endpoint protection, access controls, risk monitoring, and employee-facing security practices.
• Evaluate and improve security-related tools and processes to ensure a proactive and scalable IT security posture.
• Partner with leadership across departments to ensure that IT strategies align with business needs and future growth.
• Conduct regular cost and performance benchmarks of service provider landscape in order to ensure best in class IT services at MILES.

Your Experience

• 6+ years of professional experience in IT operations with exposure to strategic and financial planning and execution.
• Extensive experience with MDM platforms like JAMF and Microsoft Intune.
• Deep understanding of identity and access management, particularly Okta, and expertise in implementing MFA and SSO.
• Knowledge of ITSM and security frameworks, principles, tools and best practices.
• Proven ability to define and execute IT strategies that align with organizational goals and focus on usability and compliance.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills including troubleshooting capabilities with a mindset for continuous improvement.
• Strong communication abilities to articulate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You are fluent in written and spoken English & German.
