Job Summary As a Technical Lead, Critical Facility Engineer at Equinix, you will perform highly skilled preventative and corrective maintenance on critical facility systems. You will lead critical infrastructure operations, closely collaborate with global customers, facilitate vendor selection, and support the team during incidents, changes, in problem solving and maintenance activities. The focus is on complex task handling requiring highly skilled and independent judgement, while contributing to the development of new concepts and techniques for standard operating procedures. Supports the overall team. Responsibilities Facility/Infrastructure Maintenance
  • Oversees and performs skilled preventative and corrective maintenance on critical systems.
  • Resolves complex incidents, develops new procedures, and leads critical infrastructure operations.
  • Monitors the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and addresses advanced alarms.
  • Implements energy efficiency measures and inspects key systems like plumbing, fire suppression, and life safety.
  • Develops scopes for life-cycle maintenance and infrastructure projects.
Customer Satisfaction
  • Drives customer satisfaction by responding promptly to requests.
  • Conducts regular meetings to discuss operational activities.
Vendor Support
  • Facilitates vendor selection and directs their work to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Manages maintenance scripts, work approvals, and technical documentation updates.
  • Contributes to vendor performance reviews.
Site Administration & Incident Support
  • Manages site logs, permit data, and identifies process discrepancies.
  • Supports incident management, including responding to major failures and conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Identifies Single Points of Failure (SPOFs) and recommends improvements.
Work Orders & Additional Projects
  • Completes skilled work requests, installations, and system troubleshooting.
  • Leads infrastructure project activities and performs capacity management reviews.
Collaboration
  • Collaborates to resolve complex facility incidents and advises on repairs and maintenance.
  • Leads inventory planning and complex project implementation.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in critical facility maintenance.
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and incident management skills.
