Job Description:
Join ZEISS, a leader in semiconductor manufacturing technology, as a Scientist for Optimization Algorithm Development. In this role, you will design, refine, and implement models and algorithms to optimize complex systems, contributing to the development of microchips used worldwide.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing optimization models and algorithms
- Analyzing and modeling complex systems to identify optimization potentials
- Conducting simulations and experiments to validate algorithms
- Coordinating across optical design, metrology, production, and customer interfaces
- Leading small expert teams and supporting production in implementing new processes
Qualifications:
- Degree in mathematics, natural sciences, engineering, or related field; PhD is a plus
- Strong expertise in mathematical optimization
- Solid understanding of software architecture and experience in modular, scalable system development
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, C#
- Fluent in German and English (C1 level)
- Creative, systematic problem-solver with a structured, team-oriented working style
