About the role
As an IP Patent Attorney, you will define and implement strategies for technology protection within a specific business area, advise internal customers and stakeholders, and manage projects.
Your Impact as an IP Patent Attorney:
* Provide strategic input for the group on Intellectual Property protection and lead strategy implementation within your domain.
* Advise the business on capturing value from Intellectual Property.
* Handle drafting, application, prosecution, grant, and enforcement of IP rights (patents, utility models, designs, trademarks), focusing on business relevance.
* Participate in due diligence, review third-party rights, and address IP risks.
* Support IP aspects in contracts, including licensing.
* Collaborate with lawyers worldwide on prosecution and enforcement, including litigation and defending rights at the European Patent Office or local jurisdictions.
* Be a qualified European Patent Attorney or national patent attorney with 10-15 years of IP experience, preferably both in-house and in private practice.
* Coach colleagues on complex IP matters.
* Build a network within the company across functions and geographies.
About You
Essential skills & competencies:
* Master's degree in science or engineering; a law degree is a plus.
* Recognized authority in IP with broad experience.
* Excellent communication skills and a good sense of humor.
* Strong commercial and leadership skills.
* Analytical thinking and strategic business understanding.
* Attention to detail in legal review and drafting.
* Proactive and hands-on approach.
* Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
