Role Overview
The Project Engineer / Service Delivery Engineer is responsible for operational aspects of project delivery, enhancing financial efficiency and profitability through diligent application of contractual and commercial practices, with careful risk management. The role also involves supporting the Operational Team with contractual, aftersales, and warranty issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing timely, accurate valuations, cost forecasts, and cash flows.
- Managing financial control of contract variations supporting Operational Engineers.
- Preparing valuations, payment applications, and cost reconciliations involving resources, subcontractors, specialists, and suppliers.
- Defending against excess project costs, including liquidated damages assessments.
- Maintaining good client relations and representing the company's interests in meetings.
- Reviewing documentation such as contracts, bills of quantities, and drawings for accuracy and clarity.
- Attending site progress meetings as needed.
- Recording contractual delays and coordinating claims.
- Liaising with departments to ensure timely payments and receivables.
- Maintaining customer relationships for retention and growth.
- Identifying additional customer requirements beyond the scope.
- Sharing knowledge to optimize solutions and project costs.
- Participating in cost reduction and sales initiatives.
- Using Non-conformance reporting tools effectively.
- Managing maintenance, resources, and spare parts.
- Aligning asset management policies with organizational objectives.
- Collaborating with internal and external partners on asset-related topics.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in Contracts Management, preferably within the Electricity Industry.
- Familiarity with latest contract terms, including NEC & FIDIC.
- Experience in purchasing procedures and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations, H&S legislation, and Risk Management processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Qualified and experienced in Contract Management.
- Health & Safety qualification (desired).
- Membership of a professional body (desired).
