Applications are invited for a PhD position in the field of innovative materials for next-generation energy storage and sustainable battery recycling at the Chair of Energy Materials, Saarland University, Germany. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary research group focused on the development of advanced battery materials and circular energy solutions.

Key Project Areas

– Design and synthesis of novel electrode and electrolyte materials

– Development of circular battery concepts, including direct recycling and raw material recovery

– Electrode fabrication using water-based and dry methods

– Advanced materials characterization techniques (e.g., XRD, SEM, Raman, EIS)

– Scientific publication and participation in international conferences

Eligibility Requirements

– Master’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, or Chemical Engineering

– Experience in electrochemistry and/or materials characterization (such as XRD, SEM, BET)

– Strong interest in sustainable technologies and interdisciplinary research

– Proficiency in English, with motivation and the ability to work independently
