Business Developer (m/f/d) - Category Area Wood Foil on Board

  • Full-time

At IKEA, we do things a little different. We think, differently. Act, differently. And work differently as well. We like to break rules and create innovative products, like music-playing lamps, beds disguised as sofas, and plant balls that help us look after our planet. Our vision is to create a better everyday life for the many, aiming to help millions more look forward to going home by 2030.

Join our global Purchasing Development team! We are curious, passionate, and energized by influencing, interacting, and collaborating to deliver great business results. Does this sound like your kind of environment?

If so, come and develop the IKEA business with us! We are seeking a new Business Developer for Category Foil on Board based in Dortmund.

We see our suppliers as partners with whom we build long-term relationships, aiming for mutual growth, efficiency, and sustainable, affordable practices.

We believe in you! You will be part of a diverse team working with world-class suppliers, finding innovative ways to drive IKEA's business forward.

We grow with you! Regular informal discussions with your manager will support your development and career growth. We value learning from mistakes as part of progress.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead a micro-team: You will be an informal leader of a 3-member team, including a Production Engineer and a Supply Planner, focusing on reducing costs and business development within sustainability and ethics.
  • Develop Partnerships: Travel with your team to collaborate with suppliers, resolve production issues, and implement action plans.
  • Create production calculations: Identify cost-saving opportunities for existing and new products.
  • Operational Tasks: Communicate with suppliers, participate in team meetings, and handle data entry.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of economics and finance, including cash flow, P&L, and cost analysis.
  • Business acumen and negotiation skills, balancing strictness with fairness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for team coordination and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong analytical skills for working with numbers, negotiating, and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in production technologies and home furnishing innovations.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written, with confidence in presentations and stakeholder engagement.
  • Driving license (B).

We offer varied tasks in a friendly, non-hierarchical, and international environment, with opportunities for education and self-development. You will work in a multicultural team based in Dortmund and Ålmhult, responsible for suppliers in Germany and Poland, contributing to IKEA's largest category with significant impact and visibility.
