Jobbeschreibung

We’re looking for an experienced System Engineer who will contribute to our success by bringing the needed technical expertise to develop innovative drive units for eBikes at Johnson Electric in Dresden (Germany).

The role involves coordinating the product development process, from designing drive units, building and testing prototypes, to delivering the finished, certified product. The requirements for an eBike motor include multiple physical domains, necessitating a complex understanding of the system and application.

Responsibilities:

  1. Development, simulation, and design of eBike drive units from concept to production start.
  2. Leading eBike system development alongside the project manager by coordinating all engineering activities.
  3. Analyzing specifications and customer requirements, deriving internal specifications, and conducting tolerance and risk assessments.
  4. Running multiphysics simulation models to support product development, considering product and manufacturing costs.
  5. Coordinating prototype testing, creating suitable testing plans, and analyzing testing results.
  6. Working independently and responsibly with suppliers and development partners.
  7. Staying updated with eBike innovations and products.
  8. Reporting engineering status to the project manager and top management.

Your profile and experience:

  1. University degree in mechatronics, drive engineering, mechanical engineering, precision engineering, or a similar field.
  2. Understanding of electrical and mechanical problems.
  3. At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  4. Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks and SolidEdge, including creating 3D parts, assemblies, and associated drawings/PLM systems.
  5. Experience with multiphysics simulation tools, ideally Simplorer, SimulationX, and Matlab Simulink.
  6. Experience with FE simulation tools, ideally Ansys Workbench.
  7. Fluency in English is essential; additional fluent German skills are preferred.
  8. Ideally, experience in mass production-related product development, transfer to production, and product release according to standards.
  9. Structured, solution-oriented, and pragmatic thinking and working style.
  10. Creative, committed, open communication, and team-oriented attitude.
  11. Openness and confidence in working in an intercultural environment.
  12. Willingness to travel regularly, primarily to Zwickau.

What we offer:

  1. An attractive salary and bonus package, vacation, and job bike.
  2. A unique opportunity to develop a sustainable end consumer product.
  3. A highly motivated team of engineers and technicians.
  4. A leading, challenging, and dynamic role contributing to business success.
  5. A truly international and multicultural work environment.
  6. Flat hierarchies, an open-minded, and supportive working atmosphere.
