Responsibilities

  1. Conception and system integration with a focus on complex IT systems and network architectures on marine vessels.
  2. Support hardware and software development projects.
  3. Create derived requirements, specifications, and test procedures.
  4. Review technical specifications from system suppliers and assist project management.
  5. Support system certifications by classification societies.
  6. Manage our system suppliers during order processing.
  7. Plan and execute commissioning and acceptance procedures onboard.

Qualifications

  • Completed technical-natural science degree in computer science, electrical engineering, communication engineering, or mathematics.
  • Certifications such as CCENT, CCNA, CCNP, ICND are desirable.
  • Knowledge of network topologies, storage/server clouds, virtualization (e.g., VMware), network security (firewalls, intrusion detection), QoS, etc.
  • Professional experience in IT infrastructure, complex networks/architectures, virtualization, QoS, and IT security.
  • Experience with military ships or similar experience is a plus.
  • Team-oriented, proactive, responsible, flexible, with initiative and independence.
