We are seeking an exceptional Vendor Manager to grow the Local Champion Brands of zooplus across Europe. You will have the flexibility to manage customer experience, topline performance, and vendor profitability, elevating vendor relationships to the next level. Your responsibilities include scaling and automating interactions with vendors, such as onboarding new vendors, creating catalog items, negotiating contracts, managing promotions, and resolving operational issues. Your work will directly impact the business, setting zooplus apart from competitors.

As a Vendor Manager, you will:

  1. Develop, implement, and control a product range strategy in collaboration with the manager and sales teams.
  2. Present products attractively, including local content and brand presentation.
  3. Manage payment terms and costs, auditing for best-in-class contractual agreements.
  4. Create growth opportunities through market, competitor, and range analysis.
  5. Influence vendors to prioritize customer experience by reducing costs, improving supply chains, and decreasing defects.
  6. Increase vendor participation through program opportunities like saver plans and bonus points.
  7. Review promotion results, adjust strategies, and negotiate new promotions as needed.
  8. Act as an escalation point for vendor issues, identifying and communicating trends.
  9. Audit metrics such as traffic, conversion, search results, and customer feedback to identify issues and communicate findings.
  10. Analyze customer pain points across vendors and categories, recommending scalable solutions.
  11. Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, purchasing, supply chain, and master data teams for efficient product lifecycle management.
  12. Support project management for intra- and cross-functional projects.
  13. Maintain knowledge management tools like wikis and shared drives.
  14. Seek opportunities for professional development and share knowledge within and outside the team.

Qualifications:

  1. At least 2 years of experience in Category Management, Vendor Management, or Purchasing.
  2. Fluent in German and English.
  3. Experience in project work.
  4. Strong understanding of customer needs and market requirements.
  5. Ability to perform well in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
  6. Excellent communication skills—speaking, writing, presenting, and negotiating.
  7. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
