The Institute of Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering focuses on scaling bioprocesses, multi-scale characterization, and developing robust processes using microorganisms and cell cultures. A key area is studying single cell physiology and population heterogeneities, especially in biofilm formation by Streptomyces strains in bioreactors.

YOUR TASKS

  • Cultivation of Streptomyces strains as productive biofilms
  • Analysis of cell physiology at single cell and population levels
  • Automation of bioreactors and bioprocess design
  • Mathematical evaluation of experimental data

YOUR PROFILE

  • Completed university studies in Biotechnology or Bioprocess Engineering

Required Knowledge and Personal Skills

  • Experience in microbial cultivation in laboratory-scale bioreactors
  • Knowledge in analyzing bioprocess samples and statistical data analysis (preferred)
  • Experience in bioreactor automation and process design
  • Friendly, open-minded, and a team player
  • Willingness to supervise lab courses
