Head of Engineering - Berlin and Hamburg

Are you interested in contributing to maintaining a stable energy supply in the future? My client who are one of the world leading companies in energy technology are looking for an experienced power electronics engineer for their Berlin location.

Responsibilities:

• Develop advanced power electronic systems, including DC-DC converters for battery storage, photovoltaic (PV) systems, and DC fast-charging stations, with a focus on EMC-compliant integration
• Select appropriate components and manage the commissioning of complete systems from start to finish
• Design and carry out testing procedures, including the creation of test plans and documentation
• Support and manage product certification processes, ensuring regulatory compliance
• Lead the execution of customer-specific projects, adapting solutions to meet unique technical needs
• Work closely with manufacturing partners during prototype development and transition to series production
• Assist in pilot projects, including field testing and on-site commissioning

Qualifications:

• A degree in electrical engineering, ideally with a concentration in power electronics or electrical energy systems
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in DC charging infrastructure, integration of power converters, or renewable/grid-tied energy systems
• Solid knowledge of battery storage systems, PV installations, DC charging technology, and ideally, experience with industrial communications, PLC-based automation, and product certification processes
• Fluent in German and English
