Business Development Manager - Dissolved Gas Analysis

Wenham Carter has been retained by a leading provider of advanced monitoring and condition-based maintenance solutions for electrical assets, Currently we are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive growth and sales of their innovative Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) solutions across Europe. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented professional with a strong background in electrical engineering and a passion for developing business strategies within the industrial and utilities sectors.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for driving sales, promoting DGA monitoring solutions, and developing long-term customer relationships across various industries, including utilities, oil & gas, mining, and data centers. This role will require you to collaborate closely with sales, product, and marketing teams to develop and execute strategies that meet both customer and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the sales strategy for DGA monitoring solutions in Europe, focusing on both account development and market expansion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Regional Sales Managers, Product Management, and Marketing, to achieve sales targets and KPIs.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify key opportunities and develop actionable sales strategies.
  • Drive the promotion and adoption of DGA solutions by engaging with potential customers, responding to inquiries, and building brand awareness.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and customers, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and long-term business growth.
  • Support marketing and sales teams in developing customer lists, setting priorities, and generating leads.
  • Coordinate and plan customer visits, virtual meetings, and technical demonstrations.
  • Provide constructive feedback to internal teams to enhance sales performance and customer engagement.
  • Travel approximately 50% of the time for customer meetings, site visits, and industry events.
  • Attend and represent the company at technical conferences and industry events to expand networks and stay updated on industry trends.

Your Profile:

  • MSc or BSc in Electrical/Power Engineering or equivalent field experience.
  • Proven experience in selling technical solutions or equipment to electrical utilities or industrial sectors (oil & gas, mining, etc.).
  • Experience with condition-based and predictive maintenance strategies for high-voltage and substation equipment is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of intelligent electronic devices used for process monitoring, control, and critical equipment health monitoring.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, account development, and sales execution.
  • Project management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and nurture relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages such as German, Spanish, Portuguese, or French is a plus.
