Job Description:

Applied Materials is the world market leader for special systems and manufacturing processes in semiconductor, electronics, and display technology. We provide technology that powers nearly every new chip and advanced display globally, shaping future innovations. Our approximately 33,000 employees worldwide work in research and development, production, sales, and service.

Our subsidiary, Integrated Circuit Testing GmbH (ICT GmbH), with around 160 employees, develops and produces electron microscopes—the core of our machines—which monitor semiconductor production processes and detect the smallest wafer defects. To meet increasing customer demand, our location near Munich, Germany, is continuously growing.

We are seeking experienced Technical Writers/Technical Publication Engineers (m/f/d) to strengthen our engineering team within the Operations division at our Munich facility. The ideal candidate is technically oriented, with strong skills in structuring and describing technical content, systems, and processes, with a background in manufacturing processes.

Do you value precise and accurate technical documentation? Do you enjoy collaborating with internal departments and working within an international team? If yes, then below is the profile we are looking for:

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main contact for documentation tasks, including assembly instructions for complex systems, managing all documents in English and German.
  • Develop technical documentation for internal and external use, such as assembly and testing procedures, manuals, and training materials.
  • Coordinate with technical departments (R&D, engineering, testing, etc.) to create and validate documentation.
  • Gain in-depth product and production knowledge through hands-on experiences in collaboration with specialists.
  • Support all product development stages from prototype to series production, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.

Requirements and know-how:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in technical/engineering field with 2+ years of professional experience, preferably in the semiconductor or comparable industry.
  • Practical experience in technical documentation and editing.
  • Ability to understand complex technical processes and quickly adapt to new issues.
  • Interest in working in a high-tech, dynamic, and diverse environment.
  • Experience with technical diagrams and drawings; CAD knowledge is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and German, both oral and written.
  • Precise and reliable work methods.

Additional qualities you bring:

  • Desire to be part of a highly qualified engineering team, managing manufacturing and technical aspects of complex modules.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers for efficient production.
  • Leadership in driving supplier excellence for smooth manufacturing processes near Munich.
  • Enjoyment of working in an international, high-tech environment with growth and development opportunities.

Benefits include extensive training, company pension scheme with top-up options, travel insurance, 30 days of vacation, fitness memberships, free beverages and fruits, subsidized meals, and flexible remote work options.
