Moneda is building a new category in finance: Stablecoin Banking. Self-custodial, borderless, tax-aware, and regulation-ready. We’re combining the best of decentralised infrastructure and traditional banking into one seamless product.

We’re hiring our first design team member: an ambitious Founding Product Designer who will play a central role in defining the user experience at Moneda from the ground up. You’ll join a small, fast-moving team in Berlin and work directly with the Founder and Head of Product to craft intuitive, trusted, and elegant interfaces for a radically new kind of financial platform. This is a high-impact, senior IC role for a designer who thrives on ownership, systems thinking, and building at the frontier of fintech.

This is a principal/staff-level role with full design ownership, ideal for someone who has shipped world-class digital products and is ready to set the standard for a new category.

We’re hiring our first design team member: an ambitious Founding Product Designer who will play a central role in defining the user experience at Moneda from the ground up. You’ll join a small, fast-moving team in Berlin and work directly with the Founder and Head of Product to craft intuitive, trusted, and elegant interfaces for a radically new kind of financial platform. This is a high-impact, senior IC role for a designer who thrives on ownership, systems thinking, and building at the frontier of fintech.

As Moneda’s first design hire, you will take full ownership of the product experience

• Lead End-to-End Design Own the entire design flow across web and mobile, from wireframes to production-ready UI, using advanced Figma skills and strong systems thinking.
• Define Design Direction Set the visual language and design standards. Work closely with Product and Engineering to shape roadmap and execution.
• Design for Clarity, Security & Trust Build interfaces that prioritise clarity, security, and compliance – especially around custody, transactions, and onboarding.
• Build Interfaces for Modern Financial Technology Create intuitive interfaces for banking and AI-powered financial assistants, focusing on secure, seamless, and engaging user experiences across web and mobile platforms.
• Run Research & Iterate Fast Validate ideas through research and usability testing. Turn insights into quick iterations and working prototypes.
• Build the Design System Create and maintain a scalable design system and shared libraries that enable speed and consistency.
• Work Cross-Functionally Collaborate with the CEO, Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to deliver cohesive, feasible, and user-driven outcomes.
• Balance Speed and Precision Move fast without sacrificing polish. You’ll solve both high-level flows and edge cases with care and urgency.

• 5+ years of experience designing and shipping user-centric digital products to production
• A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design across web and mobile
• Expert in Figma: auto layout, prototyping, design systems, and component libraries
• Deep understanding of UX best practices, usability principles, and interaction design
• Proven success working in fast-paced, cross-functional startup teams
• Hands-on experience collaborating with Product and Engineering to launch B2C products
• Strong organisational skills: you document clearly, version your work, and keep systems clean
• Highly collaborative: you bring people into the process, give and receive feedback well, and thrive in tight feedback loops
• Comfortable using Slack, Notion, and async collaboration tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English
• Detail-oriented with strong product thinking and a sense for the big picture
• Familiar with usability testing and A/B experimentation
• AI literacy: you actively use LLMs or agent-based tools (e.g. v0, Bolt, Lovable) to prototype, accelerate workflows, or explore new interaction patterns with MCPs.

Bonus Points

• Experience building fintech, AI, or neobanking consumer applications
• Additional skills in branding, motion design, illustration, or working with 3D designs
• Fluency in German and/or Spanish
• Experience working with remote engineering teams – whilst leadership and product team is based in Berlin, some of our engineers are remotely distributed across Europe and LATAM
