Main tasks:

  • Compiling documents and auxiliary and operating materials (e.g. solvents, raw materials, standard samples, etc.)
  • Conceptual collaboration on new test procedures
  • Adaptation of test equipment in coordination with the laboratory manager.
  • Preparation, execution and evaluation of complex preparative tasks
  • Checking technical documents
  • Carrying out, analyzing and evaluating laboratory work and tests
  • Preparation of firing samples
  • Measuring, evaluating and, if necessary, calculating physical and chemical material properties after selecting the appropriate measurement methods (e.g. rheology measurements, physical properties before and after firing, chemical resistance, color measurement)
  • Carrying out and calculating chemical reactions
  • Processing complaints
  • Testing and optimizing raw materials, products and test methods
  • Carrying out and evaluating production and/or customer trials
  • Preparing, evaluating and analyzing test results and presenting the test results
  • Adapting recipes (recipe changes / creation)

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Inorganic Chemistry or a related technical field.
  • A professional experience of 1-2 years preferably in research and development of glass, glass ceramics or ceramics.
  • Knowledge of materials analysis and validation using techniques such as scanning electron microscopy, XRD, XRF, thermal analysis, hot stage microscopy and dilatometry
  • Communication skills, systematic way of working, analytical thinking, time management, ability to work in a team, organizational skills, intercultural competence
  • Proficiency in English (written and oral) and communication skills in German to at least B2 level to communicate with the German speaking team
