Technical Assistant pancreatic cancer (f / m / d)

The University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) combines the Medical Faculty of the Georg-August University and the University Hospital. The Klinik für Gastroenterologie, gastrointestinale Onkologie und Endokrinologie is seeking a Technical Assistant (f / m / d) for a full-time, limited 2-year position, with remuneration according to TV-L.

Our research focuses on understanding pancreatic cancer, exploring its mechanisms and developing novel therapies. We offer a stimulating environment with diverse experimental work, an interdisciplinary and international team, and opportunities for clinical-translational studies.

The responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting laboratory experiments, including animal (mice) studies
  2. Cultivating cell lines and conducting in vitro experiments
  3. Applying biochemical techniques like Western blotting and immunoprecipitation
  4. Performing molecular biology methods such as DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, genotyping, and cloning
  5. Documenting procedures and results accurately
  6. Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment
  7. Assisting researchers and students in experiments
  8. Managing laboratory organization and supplies
  9. Training new staff and interns, ensuring safety compliance

Qualifications:

  • Motivated technical expertise in biochemical, molecular, and cell biology methods
  • Experience with murine and human cell cultures, genetic engineering at biosafety level S1
  • Experience in animal handling and experiments
  • Strong teamwork skills within a multidisciplinary environment
