Senior Software Engineer VoIP and Video Conferencing (f/m/d)

Role: Senior Software Engineer VoIP and Video Conferencing

Previous working experience: >5 years

Working hours: 40 hrs/week

Working Location: Remote/Berlin

Reports to: Chapter Lead Corelib

Desired start date: As soon as possible

YOUR CHALLENGE AT WIRE

Get ready to play a key role in our Corelib/AVS Team. You will work closely with our current AVS (Audio/Video Signalling) Engineers and other teams to provide innovative calling solutions deployed across various platforms (iOS, Android, Web, Desktop).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Design, implement, and optimize secure audio-video signalling protocols for the messenger app and web application
  2. Work with audio/video processing and WebRTC
  3. Develop server components facilitating calls in a federated environment
  4. Ensure end-to-end encryption and secure transmission of audio and video data
  5. Collaborate on high-performance server and client code
  6. Diagnose and resolve calling issues and performance problems
  7. Analyze calling logs to improve user experience
  8. Build tooling to support diagnosis, analysis, and solutions

YOUR PROFILE

  • 5+ years coding experience in a systems language (C, C++, Go, Rust)
  • Solid understanding of coding best practices, including code reviews, automated tooling, and documentation
  • Experience with WebRTC, SFU, and media servers
  • Proficiency in audio/video processing
  • Knowledge of Python for tooling is a strong plus
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
  • Good communication skills for discussing complex topics; comfortable working with remote teams
