Our mission is to contribute to transformation in economics, politics, business & society. We are particularly distinct by our internationality, with one of the highest proportions of full-time international students in German universities of applied sciences. We have formulated the values that unite us in our mission statement and our diversity statement.
Karlshochschule places great importance on the personality development of its students. Thus, we are offering service learning and fostering civic engagement. The didactic principle of the university is to offer integrated, interactive, and constructivist teaching and thus we are working for instance with case studies, role plays, simulations, and project work.
Our Social Sciences & Humanities faculty focuses on cross- and transdisciplinary as well as holistic research and teaching in relation to alternative forms of living and working in civil society and the economy as well as forms of critical leadership. In particular, it systematically explores progressive politics, works with (analytic, continental and non-Western) philosophies and focuses on heterodox, pluralist economics and international relations.
