Data Center Technician Trainee, Data Center Operations

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continuous access for our customers. We work on complex problems and seek talented individuals to join us.

You will join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Collaborating across AWS, you'll help maintain safety, security, and capacity at optimal costs, fostering an inclusive culture that encourages innovation and ownership.

We are expanding our Infrastructure Operations team and are looking for Data Center Technicians to join our Work-Based Learning Program (WBLP) in the Frankfurt area. This 3-month training program involves hands-on work in our Data Centers.

Duties & Responsibilities

You will work alongside experienced Amazon Data Technicians, assisting with hardware and network troubleshooting, and providing infrastructure support by resolving tickets related to hardware (motherboards, RAM, CPU, GPU) and networking issues (link down, optics, switch replacements). You will be supervised at all times by an AWS Data Technician.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Hardware troubleshooting in servers under supervision
  • Meeting SLA targets for trouble tickets
  • Assisting in network troubleshooting
  • Replacing media (SSD/HDD) as guided
  • Performing hardware repairs (drives, motherboards, etc.)
  • Interacting with third-party vendors and contractors on site

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years or older
  • Experience with Microsoft Office

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Excellent time management skills
