We are seeking an individual with an independently established junior research group and the potential to excel in research and teaching in nanophotonics at KIT Faculty of Physics. The Tenure-Track Professorship will focus on novel optical metasurfaces, including their conception, design, fabrication, and characterization, with particular emphasis on tunable metasurfaces.
This professorship will be part of Division 5 – Physics and Mathematics. The appointee will lead a newly formed "Optical Metasurfaces" research group at the Institute for Nanotechnology (INT) and will contribute to the Helmholtz Research Field “Information,” especially within the “Materials Systems Engineering” program.
The role involves university teaching duties, initially 4 hours per week per semester, which may increase to 6 hours after positive evaluation. Responsibilities include participating in courses, seminars, and supervising theses in nanophotonics.
KIT offers an excellent research environment with advanced nanostructuring technology and numerous collaboration opportunities across departments and research centers, including KCOP, KSOP, and MaTeLiS.
Employment is governed by Art. 14, par. (2) of the KIT Act and related legal provisions. The candidate should have a distinguished record in nanophotonics and must have secured funding for a junior research group, with less than halfway through its funding period at the time of application.
